The client

Luciano Pires is a speaker with a diverse personal and professional background. In addition to being a speaker, he is also a podcaster, writer, cartoonist, and adventurer. All these facets of his personality, according to him, are what make his lectures so attractive to a broad audience.

Discovery

Initially, I conducted interviews with the client to define the briefing. The client wanted to redesign his website to attract people to know more about his lectures and his various facets. In addition, I ran a benchmarking study mapping visual languages and communication patterns of competitors.

My biggest challenge was to reorganize the existing website's content. The goal was to use progressive disclosure to present it dynamically so that users could first see the main info related to the lectures and later dig deeper into the client's background and other personalities. At this stage, I did a card sorting of the website's areas to define the hierarchy and group similar content.

Ideation

With the content defined, I started generating sketches, wireframes and prototypes for the mobile and desktop versions simultaneously. That way, I could validate the implementation of possible features in both formats making adjustments if necessary.

Final Solution

The final result was a single landing page with a video in the background with highlights of his lectures and a menu that can direct users to the detailed pages for each different "persona" of the client while keeping the call-to-action button visible and prominent.
